Dr. Robert W. Verde graduated with his medical degree, in 1979, from the
University of Messina, Messina, Italy. He completed his internship and a
residency in General Surgery at Lutheran Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York.
Continuing his education, Dr. Verde completed
his Orthopaedic Surgical residency at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Elyria
Ohio in 1984.
Dr. Verde then became fellowship trained in Arthroscopic
Surgery at Medical City Dallas Hospital, Dallas Texas in 1985. He
began his practice
of Orthopaedic Surgery shortly thereafter in
New York. Furthering his specialization in arthroscopic surgery of
the knee,
he pioneered the use of local anesthesia in arthroscopic
procedures in the New York area. He became one of the first surgeons
in the Brooklyn
area to use bone allografts for anterior cruciate
ligament reconstructive surgery. He is also an instructor at the Bayley
Seton Physicians Assistant
training program.
